Today’s word is SHINE. At some point today NYT changed the answer from its original answer FETUS to SHINE. Most likely because of the current situation in the US that is in the news. Here is the old info:

I live in the US. Fetus was today’s Wordle for me. This was true even after this site had noted a change from fetus to shine. That change might have stemmed from US politics. It might also reflect the fact that the British spelling of fetus is foetus. Thus, outside the US, the use of fetus might have seemed unfair.
